Coriander leaves is a sweet smelling annual herb is known very much for its culinary usage.

While it is called coriander in English speaking countries, because the name comes from French coriandre and Latin coriandrum. In the Americas, it is known by the name cilantro from Spanish.

Coriander is believed to have been originated in the Mediterranean region. This theory also supports the fact that parsley has also originated in the Mediterranean region and both of them are very similar in looks.
